SHERIFF'S OFFICE INCIDENT BRIEFINGS - FEBRUARY 28TH, 2018


During the week of February 19 – February 25, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,360 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 18-9142
On February 22, 2018 Deputy Sampson responded to Fairground Road, Prince Frederick for the report of damaged property. The victim stated that sometime between February 11th and February 17th an unknown suspect(s) had damaged their front storm door by ripping it off its hinges. The estimated value of damaged property is $200.

Theft: 18-8566
On February 19, 2018 Deputy Parks responded to Clay Hammond Road, Prince Frederick for the report of a theft. The victim stated an unknown suspect(s) had removed their magnetic business logos from the sides of their truck. The value of stolen property is $108.

On February 20, 2018 Deputy Parks responded to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft that occurred in the 3700 block of South Solomons Island Road, Saint Leonard. The victim stated that an unknown suspect(s) stole their trailer registration plate. The value of stolen property is $30.

On February 22, 2018 Cpl. Woodford responded to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft that had occurred at the 2/4 Park and Ride, Sunderland. The victim stated that an unknown suspect(s) removed their rear registration plate from their vehicle. The value of stolen property is $60.

Arrests:

On February 19, 2018 Dfc. Denton conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bayside Road and Ponds Wood Drive. While making contact with the driver later identified as Naheem Scott (21) of Annapolis, Dfc. Denton observed him to be extremely nervous and shaking. Scott was asked to step out of the vehicle for a K9 scan to be conducted. Dfc. Denton also recognized the odor of marijuana emitting from Scott’s person. A search was conducted resulting in narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Scott was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with two counts of CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute, and four counts of CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On February 20, 2018 Deputy Flynt responded to the Weis Market, Prince Frederick for the report of a shoplifter that had just left the store. Dfc. Trigg located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Autozone on Prince Frederick Boulevard. Dfc. Trigg made contact with the driver later identified as Belinda Walker (59) of Prince Frederick as the suspect from the Weis. The stolen merchandise from the store was located inside of the vehicle, and Walker could not provide a receipt for the items. Walker was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Theft Less Than $100 and False Statement to Officer.

On February 21, 2018 Deputy Bowlan conducted a traffic stop in the area of the Saint Leonard Volunteer Fire Department for a vehicle speeding. While making contact with the driver later identified as Megan Weaver (32) of Lusby, she appeared to be nervous and shaking. A K9 scan of the vehicle was performed, which resulted in a positive alert. A search of the vehicle resulted in paraphernalia. Weaver was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with two counts of CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On February 23, 2018 Deputy Parks responded to Walmart, Prince Frederick for the report of shoplifters. Deputy Parks made contact with both subjects identified as Susan Furr (30) of Prince Frederick and James Arnold (30) of Prince Frederick, and a search of their persons was conducted. The search resulted in the store’s merchandise, drug paraphernalia, and narcotics. Furr was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Theft Less Than $100 and CDS: Possession-not Marijuana (Alprazolam). Arnold was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and Theft: $100 to under $1,500.

APPREHENSION OF SUBWAY ROBBERY SUSPECT


On January 14, 2018, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office units responded to the Subway in Dunkirk, MD for the reported armed robbery.  Detectives determined similar robberies occurred at a Subway in King George Virginia a week prior.  During the weeks following these two robberies, a Subway in Anne Arundel County, the Shell Station at the intersection of Dares Beach Road and Rt. 4 in Prince Frederick, the Subway in Dunkirk (second robbery), the Subway in King George (second robbery), and two additional Subways in Charles County were robbed.

During the investigation of the second armed robbery in Charles County, the suspect exited and returned to a black Toyota 4 door sedan. The description of this vehicle was shared amongst local law enforcement.
The Criminal Investigations Bureau planned and coordinated robbery saturation patrols in an effort to catch the armed robber. At the direction of Sheriff Evans, the saturation patrols were to remain in effect until the robberies stopped. Sheriff Evans and detectives visited several businesses and assured them the recent robberies were a top priority. Law enforcement personnel kept in contact with business owners and increased presence in areas the perpetrator was likely to target.

On February 18, 2018, an armed robbery occurred at the Subway located at 2112 Crain Highway. Charles County Sheriff’s Officers located the black Toyota 4 door, from the robbery on February 16, 2018. Units conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the operator identifying him as Otis Scorpio Williams, a black male born 6/11/84. Officers took Williams into custody and recovered evidentiary items linking him to the Subway robberies.

Detectives Jernigan, Hawkins, and Livingston worked with Charles County detectives to solidify and close the Calvert County robberies. Detectives applied for charges on Otis Scorpio Williams and warrants were issued charging him with both armed robberies at the Subway in Dunkirk and the armed robbery of the Dares Beach Road Shell. Williams is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center.  Sheriff Evans said “These robberies were spread out over several counties in Maryland and Virginia. I am extremely pleased to see the suspect was apprehended without incident and without anyone getting hurt. This is just another example of the outstanding job that the detectives of the Criminal Investigations Bureau do with communicating with surrounding jurisdictions and coordinating that information through the Southern Maryland Information Center (SMIC). The safety of Calvert County citizens will always be my staff’s top priority.”

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST AND DRUG SEIZURE

On February 19, 2018 the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit conducted a traffic stop at Bayside Road at Ponds Wood Drive, Chesapeake Beach, Maryland.  During the stop a positive K-9 alert led to a search of the vehicle.  The search resulted in the recovery of 4.7 grams of powder cocaine, 10 grams of crack cocaine, 30.1 grams of marijuana, and, CDS Paraphernalia. The driver, Naheem Malik Scott, a 21 year old male of Annapolis, was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute the same.  Sheriff Mike Evans reiterated, “The illegal narcotics in Calvert County remains a priority and the deputies will continue to allocate resources to find and arrest those responsible.”

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST AND ASSET SEIZURE

On February 15, 2018 the Crime Suppression Unit conducted a traffic stop on a gold Hyundai Elantra at the Holiday Inn located in Prince Frederick.  An investigation during the stop resulted in the recovery of 20 grams of powder cocaine, a digital scale, CDS Paraphernalia, and marijuana.  In addition, $858.00 and the Hyundai Elantra were seized.  The suspect, Carol Lanette Savage of Hartford County was charged with several crimes, including Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine.  The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office began the Crime Suppression Unit in an effort to provide directed enforcement in these types of cases.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE COMMUNITY FORUM - FEBRUARY 12TH, 2018

On February 12th 2018, Sheriff Mike Evans hosted a Community Forum at Calvert High School to discuss the opioid epidemic, crime, and various other concerns of Calvert County residents.  The Sheriff’s Office Drug Intelligence Program Coordinator, Joe Windsor, then gave a presentation detailing some of the 2017 drug overdose statistics for Calvert County, as well as the current trends of the opioid epidemic.  DFC Ryan Kampf also discussed the Sheriff’s Office S.O.L.I.D. program “Sheriff’s Outreach to Loved ones In Distress” as a resource for those suffering from addiction.  Sheriff Evans then addressed questions in reference to the recent string of robberies in Calvert County.  Lt. Fridman of the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Bureau was also available to answer questions about the robberies.   Other topics of discussion were the Sheriff’s Office NIXLE Alert System and various traffic enforcement related issues.  Members of the Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit were on hand to listen and to begin the process of addressing those concerns.  Sheriff Evans will be hosting more Community Forums over the coming months.  The details will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.

During the week of February 5 – 11, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,332 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 18-6786
On February 9, 2018 Dfc. Weems responded to Runabout Loop, Solomons for the report of a damaged vending machine. The complainant stated between January 28th and February 9th an unknown suspect(s) damaged the vending machine and attempted to steal money from it.

Theft: 18-6289
On February 6, 2018 Deputy R. Shrawder responded to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft from Grays Road, Prince Frederick. The victim stated he ordered an ASUS ROG GTZ 1080 graphics card online and received an email that it had been delivered, however, when he got home the package was gone. The value of the stolen item is $770.

On February 11, 2018 Dfc. Hardesty responded to Rousby Hall Road, Lusby for the report of a theft. The victim advised that she parked her vehicle at the Lusby Shell Station and when she came by to check on it, her rear tag was missing. Sometime between February 9th at 12 PM and February 11th at 12:46 PM an unknown suspect(s) stole her tag off her vehicle from that location.

On February 10, 2018 Dfc. Locke responded to Windy Creek Road, Huntingtown for the report of a suspicious person who had entered the victim’s vehicle. The victim stated he heard his driveway alarm sensor go off and looked outside to discover an unknown male inside of his truck. He shouted and the male ran off toward Lower Marlboro Road.


Arrests:
On February 5, 2018 Dfc. Denton conducted a traffic stop at the Solomons Tourist Information Center in Solomons. During initial contact with the driver, later identified as Brandon Marshall Wehler (18), Dfc. Denton detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The passenger admitted to having marijuana in her purse and handed it over to the officer. A search of the vehicle revealed a small plastic bag containing marijuana less than 10 grams as well as a clear plastic bag containing suspected heroin inside. Wehler was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and two counts of CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On February 5, 2018 Deputy J. Ward responded to the Calvert County Detention Center for the report of a CDS violation. A single unidentifiable pill was located loose on an inmate, identified as Emmett Odyssey Gantt Sr (57). The pill was identified as Pfizer 100 PGN. Gantt was charged with Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement.

On February 6, 2018 Deputy Williamson responded to the Bank of America in Dunkirk for the report of a bad check being passed. The suspect, later identified as James Henry Bowman III (48), entered the bank and tried to cash a check for $1,500. A bank employee contacted the owner of the check who advised the check was for $50 and was initially made out to her granddaughter. Bowman was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Forgery of Private Documents, Issuing a False Document, and Theft Less than $100.

On February 7, 2018 Deputy Sampson was dispatched to the Calvert County Detention Center for the report of a CDS violation. Sergeant Scott handed Deputy Sampson a ziplock bag containing a white paper fold with a white powder inside that was recovered from an inmate, later identified as Rashad Saeed Campbell (31). Campbell was charged with Possession/Receiving CDS While Confined/Detained.

On February 8, 2018 Deputy Spalding responded to Patuxent Wine and Spirits in Lusby for the report of trespassing. The suspect, later identified as Kevin Deandre Hawkins (30), advised he came to the store to give the owner what he owed him for stealing a bottle of Patron prior to this incident. Deputy Durner was also on scene and advised Deputy Spalding that the owner wanted to press charges against Hawkins because he was in the store yelling and causing a scene. Hawkins was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Trespassing on Private Property.

On February 9, 2018 Dfc. Denton and Deputy Sampson conducted a traffic stop in the area of Route 4 and Sixes Road, Prince Frederick. Trooper McCombs of the Maryland State Police and his K-9 partner conducted a sniff of the car which turned out to be positive. A search of the vehicle was met with negative results, as well as a search of the driver. A female officer was requested for a search of the passenger, identified as Sequoia Gladys Henderson (29), which revealed suspected Oxycodone. Henderson was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.

On February 10, 2018 Deputy Williamson received a lookout for a vehicle in the area of Route 4 and Route 2 which he found at the 7 Eleven in Sunderland. The driver, later identified as Ryan Ford Gallagher (40), was holding a glass crack cocaine pipe, and a strong odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Williamson found a glass smoking device with marijuana residue, a cigarette pack with a small amount of marijuana inside, 3 cell phones, two pill bottles with white powder residue, two digital scales with white residue on them, a spoon with burn marks on the bottom and white residue on the top, and cash folded up in his pants pocket. Gallagher was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and 3 counts of CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

SUSPECTS APPREHENDED IN DASH IN ROBBERY - FEBRUARY 12TH, 2018

On February 12, 2018 at approximately 8:50 A.M.,  deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Dash In, located at 875 N Solomon’s Island Rd Prince Frederick, MD, for a report of a Strong Armed Robbery. Contact was made with employees from the Dash In who stated; “
Two men came into the business and grabbed cash from a register when an employee was ringing up a sale.”  The employees attempted to stop the suspect but he threatened them with a can of mace and quickly ran out of the store. 

Detectives were quickly able to identify the suspects as Levi Lawrence Hill of Bushwood, MD and Michael Shelton Wiggins of Accokeek, MD.  Suspects were apprehended on February 14, 2018.  Sheriff Mike Evans commended the deputies for their hard work in this case.  He added, “We will continue to allocate resources to solve these recent robberies that have taken place.”  If anyone has any further information, please contact Detective Wayne Wells at 410-535-1600 ext. 2595 or Wayne.wells@calvertcountymd.gov

VEHICLE PURSUIT LEADS TO APPREHENSION

On Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at approximately 9:00 p.m. deputies noticed a white Chevrolet van quickly entering and leaving several parking lots in the Dunkirk area.  Deputies followed the van and observed several traffic violations.  The vehicle was stopped in the area of Md. 260 and Brickhouse Road.  However, prior to being contacted by the deputies the driver of the vehicle sped from the scene fleeing from the deputies.  The vehicle continued to travel eastbound on Md. Route 260 with deputies in pursuit.  During the chase the driver of the van attempted several times to ram the pursuing deputies.  The pursuit continued back to Md. 4 and continued northbound.  Fearing the van was approaching a more populated area deputies utilized an immobilization technique and safely forced the vehicle from the roadway in the area of Ritchie Marlboro Road.  The driver was located hiding in the rear of the van behind an adult female and two juvenile passengers.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Derwin Scott Sr., a 50 year old male of Sunderland, was taken into custody and charged with several counts of 1st degree assault, possession of crack cocaine, possession of CDS paraphernalia, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, neglect of a child and numerous traffic violations.  An adult passenger in the vehicle, Shellena Middleton, a 36 year old female from Great Mills, was charged with possession of cocaine.  All parties were checked by Emergency Medical Services as a precaution.  Sheriff Evans stated, “These deputies used outstanding tactics and training to get a dangerous driver off the roads of Calvert County.”

DASH IN ROBBERY - FEBRUARY 12TH, 2018

DUNKIRK SUBWAY ROBBERY - FEBRUARY 7TH, 2018

On February 7th, 2018, at 6:02 p.m., Calvert Deputies were dispatched to the Subway in Dunkirk, for a report of an armed robbery.  Deputies responded within minutes, but the suspect had already fled.  The suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 25 years of age, between 508 and 510.  This case is believed to be related to the armed robbery of the Prince Frederick Shell station from a day earlier.   Anyone with any information is urged to contact Detective Hawkins at 410-535-2800 or Ricardo.Hawkins@calvertcountymd.gov.  

SHELL GAS STATION ROBBERY - FEBRUARY 6TH, 2018

On February 6th, 2018, at 9:34 p.m., Calvert Deputies were dispatched to the Shell gas station in Prince Frederick for a report of an armed robbery.  Units were on the scene within seconds of the broadcast.  However, the suspect had already fled the business.  The suspect is described as a black male wearing all black.  This case remains under investigation.  Anyone with any information is urged to contact Detective Livingston at 410-535-1600 ext. 2596 or Justin.Livingston@calvertcountymd.gov.

SPEED ENFORCEMENT CAMERAS MOVING TO NEW LOCATION

During the week of February 05, 2018, the Calvert County Automated Speed Enforcement Unit will be moving the speed enforcement camera from Mutual Elementary School on Ball Road to Huntingtown Elementary School on Huntingtown Road.   This camera will be placed near the front of the school in the eastbound lane. 

As a courtesy, the locations of the cameras are also posted on the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office website and Facebook page.   
  • Cameras are active throughout the year, Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.   This does not alter any posted speed reduction times. 
  • Citations are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle, and only if the speed was 12 mph or more over the posted speed limit.  The camera will adjust for the reduced speed times. 
  • A school zone speed camera violation is a $40 fine with no points.

Burglary: 18-5574 On February 2, 2018, Dfc. Holt responded to Larchmont Road, Chesapeake Beach for the report of a burglary. The victim stated she only comes to this residence on weekends, and had not been there in two weeks. An unknown suspect(s) removed several window screens, broke glass in the living room and broke the lock to the slider door. The victim did not notice anything missing. The total value of damaged property is approximately $1,500.

During the week of January 29 – February 4, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,261 calls for service throughout the community.

Burglary: 18-4752
On January 29, 2018 Deputy Spalding responded to Canary Lane, Saint Leonard for the report of a burglary. The victim stated between 7:50 AM and 3:35 PM an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence and stole two Xbox Ones, two Xbox One controllers, a Nintendo Switch, approximately 13 Xbox games, and one Nintendo Switch game. Later that evening, Deputy Spalding received an email from the victim stating that he found the screen on the master bedroom window cut and the window unlocked. The victim also stated a five gallon jug filled with bills and coins was emptied, and another piggy bank was stolen. The total value of stolen property is approximately $2,579.

On February 3, 2018 Deputy Callison responded to Brookview Court, Chesapeake Beach for a police information call. The victim stated an unknown suspect(s) broke his window and attempted to break into his residence. The estimated damaged property is $250.

Theft: 18-4881
On January 30, 2018 Cpl. Woodford responded to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft. The victim stated sometime between January 24th and January 29th an unknown suspect(s) stole 2 of his medications from a lock box. Approximately 20 Zyprexa pills and 40 Dexedrine Spansule pills were stolen. The estimated value of stolen medication is $50.

On January 31, 2018 Deputy R. Shrawder responded to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for the report of a theft. The victim stated that on January 29th around 12:30 PM an unknown suspect(s) stole her bag, containing 24 Adderall pills and random toiletries, from the locker room of the World Gym in Prince Frederick. The estimated value of the bag and toiletries is $70.

Theft: 18-5664
On February 3, 2018 Deputy Yates responded to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for report of a theft. The victim stated she ordered two tops online in early January and realized she had never received the package. UPS advised her that the package was left in a bag tied to her mailbox on January 9, 2018. The victim checked the bag that day, but there was nothing inside of it. The value of the stolen items is $576.


Arrests:
On January 31, 2018 Dfc. Rediker conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sixes Road and Grays Road, Prince Frederick. Dfc. Rediker made contact with the driver, later identified as Paul David Parker Jr (36), when he smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Parker admitted to having marijuana oil that was 85% THC. He handed over two vials containing 750 ML of the oil, one with 500 ML and the other with 250 ML, as well as a smoking device with marijuana oil residue. According to the Drug Enforcement Unit and the State’s Attorney’s Office 1 ML of oil is equal to 1 gram of marijuana. Parker was placed into custody and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession of Marijuana 10+ grams.

On January 31, 2018 Dfc. Trigg conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Solomons Island Road and East Chesapeake Beach Road in Owings. Dfc. Trigg made contact with the driver and passengers when he noticed the ignition of the vehicle had been tampered with. Dfc. Trigg requested a CDS canine who scanned the car and gave a positive alert.  Dfc. Jacobs and his canine partner located a hypodermic needle syringe and a metal spoon under Jennifer Marie Modlin’s (41) seat. Dfc. Trigg asked who the spoon and syringe belonged to and Modlin admitted it was hers and that it was for heroin use. Modlin was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was searched a second time and additional CDS was located. Modlin was charged with CDS: Possession Not Marijuana, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia, CDS: Administer Equipment Possession/Distribute and Possession of CDS While Confined.

On February 1, 2018 Dfc. Kreps was working at Abners in Chesapeake Beach. A patron, later identified as Frederick Robert Abner II (28), walked behind the bar and grabbed a bottle of liquor. Dfc. Kreps took the bottle which caused Abner to become irate. He approached Dfc. Kreps, screaming and cursing in his face, therefore, Dfc. Kreps placed him under arrest. Dfc. Kreps placed him in the patrol car and requested another unit to assist with transport. Deputy Rzepkowski arrived on scene to transport Abner, however he was still extremely combative. Once in the back of Deputy Rzepkowski’s vehicle, Abner kicked his leg up and made contact with the officer’s vest and chin, then while securing his seatbelt, Abner head butted Deputy Rzepkowski on the left side of his head. While driving to the detention center, Abner continued to make threatening comments to the officer, unsecured his seatbelt, and was standing up moving around in the back seat. Deputy Rzepkowski pulled off on the shoulder of Route 4 to secure Abner in his seat, when Abner jumped out of the vehicle head first, striking Rzepkowski in the face. Rzepkowski got Abner back into the vehicle, where he continued resisting and head butted the officer again. Abner was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting/Interfering with Arrest and Second Degree Assault.

On February 2, 2018 Deputy Yates responded to Cassell Boulevard, Prince Frederick to check the welfare of a female behaving abnormally. As Deputy Yates investigated the area, Deputy Mitchell located the female, later identified as Lorin Megan Somers (34). As Somers looked for an ID, she attempted to conceal the contents of her bag. Deputy Yates questioned her about what drugs or medications she had taken, as she was clearly impaired, and she advised she had taken Suboxone. Somers removed a black glove from her bag and handed it to the officer. Inside the glove were 26 Suboxone film strips inside of their packaging. Somers was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center, where another search was conducted by a female officer, and an oval orange pill fell from her pants onto the floor which was identified as Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine. Somers was charged with two counts of CDS: Possession Not Marijuana.

On February 2, 2018 Detective Livingston was in the area of Briscoe Turn Road in Owings when he conducted a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Jared Brian Maites (34), appeared to be falling asleep while driving. After making contact with Maites, Detective Livingston observed a large amount of green powdery substance along with several green leaf like pieces of what he believed to be marijuana. Maites was removed from the vehicle when Detective Livingston observed a marijuana bowl on the floorboard along with a small oval pill. He was placed under arrest. A search of his person and his vehicle revealed several syringes, a spoon, and over 350 pills. The Calvert Control Center advised Detective Livingston that Maites had an open warrant from the state of California. Maites was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. Once back at the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Kreps located a Suboxone strip package and a plastic bag containing a piece of Suboxone strip in Maites’ wallet. Maites was served his warrant and charged with CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia, CDS: Possession Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute.

On February 3, 2018 Deputy Barger conducted a traffic stop on Route 260 in the area of Cornwall Road in Owings. The driver stated he was Anthony Joseph Walton Sr (44), but did not have his driver’s license. The Calvert County Control Center advised there was an active warrant for Walton, so Deputy Barger had him exit the vehicle. While speaking with Walton, Deputy Fox observed pieces of copper brillo pad strands in the vehicle. Deputy Fox and Deputy Callison conducted a search of the vehicle where they located a cigarette box containing two pipes used for crack cocaine, a piece of a pipe used for crack cocaine, aluminum foil with a burnt substance, and a plastic stick with residue on the end and sides. Walton was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. He was served his warrant and charged with Person Driving Motor Vehicle on Highway on Suspended License and Privilege as well as two counts of CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On February 3, 2018 Deputy Yates responded to Calvert Towne Drive in Prince Frederick for the report of two males fighting. Upon his arrival, Deputy Yates observed a male, later identified as Carlos Leon Baker (29), outside of the residence in a loud verbal argument with several other individuals. Baker began walking away from the residence, but kept turning back to reengage in the argument after being told to leave. Deputy Yates placed Baker under arrest for disorderly conduct. During a search Deputy Yates discovered two baggies containing marijuana, two empty baggies containing marijuana residue, and empty Suboxone packaging. Baker was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
