SHERIFF'S OFFICE INCIDENT BRIEFINGS - MARCH 27TH, 2018


During the week of March 19 – March 25, deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,332 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 18-14781
On March 22, 2018 Dfc. Moran responded to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for the report of damaged property that occurred on Alton Court, Prince Frederick. The victim stated that sometime between March 19th at 6:30pm and March 20th at 6:30am an unknown suspect(s) had keyed the driver’s side doors of their vehicle along with slashing one of the tires. The estimated damaged property is $1,050.

Damaged Property: 18-15251
On March 24, 2018 Deputy Deleon-Suero responded to Calvert Towne Drive, Prince Frederick for the report of damaged property. The victim stated that an unknown suspect(s) had broken the door handle to the residence.

Theft: 18-14609
On March 20, 2018 Deputy Lewis responded to Mill Bridge Road, Lusby for the report of a theft. The victim stated that an unknown suspect(s) had removed their package containing four black ink cartridges from their mailbox. The value of stolen property is $76.

Arrests:

On March 23, 2018 Dfc. Gott conducted a traffic stop in the area of S. Solomons Island Road in front of Sears. While making contact with the driver later identified as Thomas Clarke Jr (59) of Port Republic, Dfc. Gott immediately noticed narcotics in plain view on the passenger seat of the vehicle. Clarke was asked to step out of the vehicle for a search to be conducted. The search revealed narcotics and paraphernalia. Clarke was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana (crack cocaine) and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On March 23, 2018 Corporal Denton was on patrol in the area of the Calvert Village Shopping Center when he observed a subject that had a no trespass order for the entire shopping center. The subject was stopped and identified as Robert Rice (51) of Prince Frederick. Deputy J. Ward confirmed with Emergency Communications that Rice had an active no trespass order for the Calvert Village Shopping Center. Rice was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Trespass: Private Property.

On March 25, 2018 Dfc. Fox responded to Bayside road for the report of a burglary. The victim stated that an unknown male had entered his residence. After obtaining a description of the male, he was located in the area of the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department. The male later identified as Randy Kent (53) of North Beach was detained. It was determined Kent also was under the influence of narcotics. Kent was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with Burglary: 4th Degree-Dwelling and CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana (PCP).
