SHERIFF'S OFFICE INCIDENT BRIEFINGS - MAY 29TH, 2019


During the week of May 20 – May 26 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,562 calls for service throughout the community.

Burglary: 19-28422
On May 22, 2019 Dfc. Rzepkowski responded to Ponds Wood Road, Huntingtown for the report of a burglary. The complainant advised sometime between March and May 22nd an unknown suspect(s) made entry into the residence through a window, however, nothing inside was disturbed. The approximate value of damaged property to the residence is $80.
Burglary: 19-28695 ***Sheriff's Office Case of the Week***
On May 23, 2019 Dfc. Rzepkowski responded to Welchpoole Court, Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between May 16th and May 23rd an unknown suspect(s) stole his 2005 Polaris Sportsman ATV from his shed. The approximate value of stolen property is $6,000.

On May 24, 2019 Deputy Freeland responded to Maple Way, Lusby for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised his truck was damaged by juveniles who play basketball at the end of his driveway. The approximate value of damage to the truck is $1,500.

On May 24, 2019 Deputy Bowlan responded to Cattle Drive Lane, Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 3:00 AM and 6:45 AM an unknown suspect(s) broke the front passenger side window of his vehicle and stole his wallet from inside. The approximate value of stolen and damaged property is $400.

On May 24, 2019 Dfc. Spalding responded to Catalina Drive, Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised her dog’s medication was supposedly delivered on May 17th at 8:00 PM, however, when she checked the mailbox the medication was not there. The total amount of stolen property is $67.48.

On May 25, 2019 Deputy Ridgely responded to the Sheriff’s Office for the report of a purse that was stolen from Buckets Sports Bar in Lusby. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) stole the purse from a bench outside around 2:00 AM that morning. The purse and its contents are worth approximately $1,500.

On May 25, 2019 Dfc. Barger responded to Lafayette Drive, Owings for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM an unknown suspect(s) stole an Xbox One video game and a 1926 Peace silver dollar from his mailbox. The total value of stolen property is $36.
Theft: 19-29381
On May 26, 2019 Deputy Flynt responded to Giant in Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The manager advised an unknown female bypassed all points of sale and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The female was stopped by management and the items were retrieved, totaling $193.18.
ARRESTS:
On May 21, 2019 Deputy Anderson conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main Street and Wilson Court in Prince Frederick. While making contact with the driver, Daniel Joel James Buckmire (21), Deputy Anderson noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a baggie of suspected marijuana in the driver’s side rear door panel as well as a cut straw with a white powdery residue inside, which the driver stated was Oxymorphone. Buckmire was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession of Marijuana > 10 grams, CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On May 21, 2019 Deputy Payne responded to Marcellas Drive, Owings for the report of a disorderly subject. Complainants advised that they came home to find items destroyed and Louis Edward Harrod (24) alone in the house. Harrod damaged a bay window, a TV, a bedroom door, a kitchen table and chairs, adding up to approximately $2,200. Harrod was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Malicious Destruction of Property > $1,000.

On May 22, 2019 Dfc. Mohler conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of Griffin’s Flooring America in Prince Frederick. The driver, Dawn Marie Abner (55), admitted to being under the influence of Percocet and was placed under arrest for impaired driving. A search of her person revealed a cut straw with a tan powdery residue inside. A search of the vehicle revealed two more cut straws, Oxycodone, Xanax, Suboxone and a large amount of suspected heroin. Abner was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia and multiple traffic citations for driving under the influence.

On May 24, 2019 Deputy Flynt conducted a traffic stop on Southern Maryland Blvd at Cortland Lane in Dunkirk. While making contact with the driver, Ollie Rupert Collier (75), Deputy Flynt noticed the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle. As Deputy Flynt opened the driver’s door, Collier stepped out and kept his hand behind his back as if he was concealing something. Collier pulled away from Deputy Flynt and continued to resist until he was placed in handcuffs. Collier was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Resisting/Interfering with Arrest as well as Obstructing & Hindering.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE DETECTIVES ARREST PNC BANK ROBBER

    Detectives from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office spent countless hours over the past two weeks exploring all leads to apprehend the suspect in the PNC Bank Robbery that took place on May 9, 2019 in Owings, MD. Detectives were able to determine a suspect using all available technology in law enforcement investigations.

    Leads took Detectives to Donald Edward Rankin, 63 of Lexington Park, MD, who has a lengthy criminal history to include illegal narcotic use and sexual abuse of a minor where he was currently wanted through a neighboring jurisdiction.

    The investigation took detectives and members of the warrant apprehension unit to a hotel in Prince George’s County on May 18, 2019 where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

    Rankin was processed and charged with Armed Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Illegal Handgun Possession and Theft Over $1500. Rankin and is being held at the Calvert County Detention Center on a No Bond Status pending an additional bond review on Monday, May 20, 2019.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE INCIDENT BRIEFINGS - MAY 15TH, 2019


During the week of May 6 – May 12 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,319 calls for service throughout the community. 

Damaged Property: 19-25145 
On May 6, 2019 Cpl. Wilson responded to Rousby Hall Rd, Lusby for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between May 3rd at 8:30 AM and May 5th at 8:30 PM an unknown suspect(s) attempted to remove a screen from their window and left the gate to their fence open. The value of damaged property is approximately $20.  

Damaged Property: 19-26062 
On May 11, 2019 Deputy Flynt responded to Chesapeake Lighthouse Drive, North Beach for the report of damaged property. The complainants advised sometime between midnight and 10:00 AM an unknown suspect(s) punctured two tires on the female’s 2017 Ford Focus and all four tires on the male’s 2018 Ford Focus.

On May 12, 2019 Deputy Freeland responded to Harvard Road, St. Leonard for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised at approximately 4:00 AM he heard a loud noise in his living room and noticed his living room window was broken as well as one of his flower pots. The value of damaged property is approximately $500.  

Theft: 19-25810 
On May 9, 2019 DFC. O’Donnell responded to Safeway in Prince Frederick for the report of a theft. The complainant advised at 4:50 PM an unknown female stole a package of crab legs from the seafood section of the store. The value of stolen property is approximately $20.  

Theft: 19-25992 
On May 10, 2019 Deputy Mason responded to White Rock Road, Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 8:20 AM and 3:00 PM an unknown suspect(s) stole $400 from her safe as well as $1,600 worth of shoes and clothes from her residence.  

Theft: 19-26190 
On May 12, 2019 Dfc. Aurich responded to McIntosh Drive, Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 11:00 PM and midnight on May 11th an unknown suspect(s) stole his cell phone from his residence while he had people over.  

Theft: 19-26260 
On May 12, 2019 Dfc. Aurich responded to 6th Street, North Beach for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between May 11th at 6:30 PM and May 12th at 7:30 AM an unknown suspect(s) stole the rear registration plate from his truck.  

ARRESTS: 
On May 6, 2019 Deputy B. Wilson responded to HG Trueman Rd, Lusby for the report of a firearms complaint. The suspect, John Earl Drury (21), was heavily intoxicated and armed with a shotgun. Drury put the gun down, came out of the residence and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Intoxicated Endangerment and Firearm Use/Felony-Violent Crime.

On May 10, 2019 Dfc. T. Buckler conducted a traffic stop in the area of Cox Road and East Chesapeake Beach Road, Chesapeake Beach. While making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Dfc. Buckler observed money ($162) laying in the driver’s lap and a large pile of white powdery substance on the passenger seat. Both subjects were removed from the vehicle and detained. A search of the passenger, Tyier C. Brooks (29), revealed a container with approximately 13 grams of suspected heroin and $171. Standard field sobriety tests were conducted on the driver, Adam Dwain Bowen (31), which resulted in his arrest. Brooks and Bowen were both transported to the hospital due to their level of impairment. After being released from the hospital, they were transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where they were charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute as well as multiple traffic citations for Bowen for driving under the influence.

On May 10, 2019 Dfc. Boerum responded to Calvert Health Medical Center for the report of a disorderly subject. Darryl Washington (56) was refusing to leave after being discharged and making verbal threats to staff. Washington was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct and issued a Trespass warning from CHMC.

 On May 13, 2019 Deputy Bowlan responded to Buckets Sports Bar in Lusby for the report of a disorderly subject. Complainants advised Albert Roland Thomas (54) was waving money in their faces and doing pushups inside the bar before asked to leave. Thomas was found walking on the shoulder of Rousby Hall Road. Deputy Bowlan spoke with him and advised him he was free to be on his way, but Thomas became disorderly and stumbled into the roadway. Deputy Bowlan placed Thomas under arrest and transported him to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Failure to Obey Lawful Order, Resisting/Interfering with Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.

TIKI BAR DESIGNATED DRIVER PROGRAM

    Bob Hall, LLC and Anheuser Busch, working together with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police, the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse and The Chesapeake Region Safety Council are sponsoring a Designated Driver program to be held during the grand re-opening of the Tiki Bar. The program will run Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18 from noon to 10:00 p.m.


    Designated drivers who register will win prizes ranging from can coolies, sunglasses, pop sockets, totes/sling bags, beach mats, tripod stools, folding net chairs, stylus pens/flashlights and much more. Everyone wins a prize! Designated drivers will sign a pledge card, which will be entered into a drawing for four grand prizes. This year’s first prize package is 4 Baltimore Orioles Baseball Tickets versus Red Sox, plus parking pass. The second prize will be six Bowie Baysox Baseball Tickets, plus $150 in cash. Third prize is a 4 Bowie Baysox Tickets, plus $100 in cash. The fourth prize is a $100 Tiki Bar gift card, plus a $50 Visa card from the CAASA Designated Driver Rewards Program. The registration booth is located near the Tiki Bar entrance.


    Sheriff Mike Evans will draw the grand prize tickets during a ceremony at the Sheriff’s Office on Monday, May 20 at 12:00 in the afternoon. The public is invited to attend.


    Citizens are encouraged to have a plan and utilize the Designated Driver program or Ride Share options.


    The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police, as well as law enforcement from neighboring jurisdictions, will be conducting DUI saturation patrols throughout the weekend as part of Maryland’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. These enforcement efforts are funded through the State Highway Administration’s Maryland Highway Safety Office and will continue throughout the spring and summer months. Areas where a high number of DUI arrests or crashes have occurred in the past will be targeted for enforcement efforts.

DEPUTIES INVOLVED IN CHASE; SUSPECT APPREHENDED - MAY 9TH, 2019

    On May 09, 2019 at approximately 10:29pm Deputy B. Wilson attempted to stop a red GMC Sierra pick-up truck on Maryland Route 260, in Owings Maryland. The vehicle briefly pulled over, but then sped off as the deputy approached the vehicle. The vehicle, operated by Michelle Booth (6/29/1968) of Huntingtown, turned northbound on Maryland Route 4. The vehicle reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour prior to exiting at MD Route 717 Water Street, entering the downtown area of Upper Marlboro. The suspect vehicle continued at high speeds attempting to elude deputies. Eventually the vehicle returned to Maryland Route 301 and continued northbound before turning right on Marlboro Pike (MD 725) and continuing towards Old Crain Highway.


    In order to stop the dangerous actions of the suspect vehicle, deputies initiated a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver causing the vehicle to leave the roadway. Once leaving the roadway the vehicle rolled onto the driver’s side. Ms. Booth was given initial medical treatment and removed from the vehicle without further incident. Based on the mechanism of the injuries, she was transported via ground to Prince Georges Hospital Center (Shock Trauma). No other injuries were sustained during this incident.

During the week of April 29 – May 5 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,274 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 19-23974
On April 30, 2019 Deputy Wilder responded to Clydesdale Lane, Prince Frederick for the report of mail tampering. The complainant advised on April 23rd, an unknown juvenile male took a package off her porch, stomped on it then ran off. About ten minutes later, he came back and put the package in front of the door. The package contained medical equipment and the value of damaged property is approximately $500.

On April 30, 2019 Dfc. Fox responded to 8th Street, North Beach for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between April 24th and April 30th her front storm door was shattered. The estimated value of damaged property is $500.

On May 5, 2019 Deputy Wilder responded to Greenvalley Drive, Sunderland for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between May 4th at 12:15 PM and May 5th at 10:00 AM, an unknown suspect(s) damaged multiple windows, mirrors and doors throughout the residence as well as the mailbox at the end of the driveway. The estimated value of damaged property is $12,000.

On May 3, 2019 Deputy Sturdivant responded to Redeye Road, Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime around 4:00 AM, an unknown suspect(s) stole two hanging flower baskets from her front porch. The value of stolen property is $36.
Theft: 19-24483 ***Sheriff's Office Case of the Week***
On May 3, 2019 Deputy Lewis Jr. responded to Matteson Supply Company in Prince Frederick for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between May 2nd at 2:00 PM and May 3rd at 8:00 AM, an unknown suspect(s) stole a Matteson Supply Co. lighthouse statue. The value of stolen property is $299.

On May 3, 2019 Deputy Lewis Jr. responded to Main Street, Prince Frederick for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between May 2nd at 7:00 PM and May 3rd at 11:30 AM, an unknown suspect(s) stole the rear registration plate from his F250.
ARRESTS:
On April 29, 2019 Deputy Sturdivant responded to the Emergency Room at Calvert Health Medical Center for the report of a disorderly subject. The complainant advised Justin Robert Belanger (30) broke a hand sanitizer dispenser and was showing signs that he intended to fight. Belanger was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Malicious Destruction of Property and Disorderly Conduct.

On April 30, 2019 Deputy Parks responded to Pat Lane in Huntingtown for the report of a domestic dispute. While speaking with both parties involved, Andraya Avaris Kent (34) continued to yell and speak over everyone else. She became very agitated and began swinging a lanyard with keys around in a circle. Kent was asked to stop yelling and stop swinging the lanyard, but refused. Deputy Parks placed Kent under arrest and transported her to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting/Interfering with Arrest and Failure to Obey Lawful Order.

On May 1, 2019 Dfc. Pounsberry was patrolling Chesapeake Beach when he observed a CDS transaction on Gordon Stinnett Ave. A search of the residence revealed 8 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Delano Emanuel Creek (53) was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute, CDS: Distribution and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On May 1, 2019 Lt. Naughton received a phone call in reference to Frederick Emmett Donahue (58) disturbing patrons and pan handling for money and cigarettes in front of the Chesapeake Bounty Market in North Beach. Upon arrival, Lt. Naughton observed Donahue tapping on the window of a vehicle with frightened elderly occupants inside. Donahue was issued an indefinite trespass order from this area on June 18, 2018. Donahue was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Trespassing.

On May 3, 2019 Deputy Bowlan responded to HG Trueman Road, Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised the suspect, Tawnie Renee Dean (31), had left the residence, but would be returning soon. Deputy Bowlan watched Dean pull into the driveway, exit her vehicle and get into another vehicle in the driveway with the complainant. Dean was removed from the vehicle and detained. A search of her belongings and vehicle revealed several syringes, plastic wrappers with white residue, 3 spoons with residue, 4 cut straws, marijuana and a variety of prescription pills. The complainant advised Dean stole a multi-meter voltage tester fluke, a DeWalt cordless drill, a DeWalt flashlight and $80 from her. Dean was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with Theft: $100 to Under $1,500, CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE INCIDENT BRIEFINGS - MAY 1ST, 2019


During the week of April 22nd through April 28th deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,135 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 19-23186
On April 25th, 2019 Dfc. Gilmore responded to the 8200 Block of E Street in Chesapeake Beach for the report of damaged property. The victim stated sometime between 9:00 am and 12:15 am, an unknown suspect(s) knocked over several mailboxes causing them to be replaced. The estimated value of damaged property is approximately $150.

Damaged Property: 19-23619
On April 28th, 2019 Deputy Anderson responded to Federal Oak Drive in Sunderland for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised their basement window had a hole in and suspect the damage to have occurred sometime between 7:30 pm on April 27th and 1045 am on April 28th. The estimated value of damaged property is approximately $150.

Theft: 19-22653
On April 22nd, 2019 Deputy Freeland responded to Harbor Drive in Lusby for the report of a theft. The victim advised that their right rear wheel to their vehicle was missing when they attempted to leave their driveway. The victim stated the wheel went missing sometime between the overnight hours of April 21st and April 22nd at approximately 2:30 pm. The estimated value of stolen items is $300.

On April 23rd, 2019 Deputy Flynt responded to East Mount Harmony Road in Owings for the report of a theft. The complainant advised they believed their handicap placard was stolen, as they could not locate it anywhere.

On April 23rd, 2019 Dfc. Aurich responded to Chaney Road in Dunkirk for the report of a theft. The victim advised sometime between 8 pm on April 22nd and 7 am on April 23rd, an unknown suspect(s) made entry into the rear of their unlocked vehicle and stole a bucket of various hand tools, a Ryobi drill set with an extra battery, a level, a ruler, a hammer, sheet metal snips, tongs, a small halogen pry bar, a key saw and a set of screwdrivers. The estimated value of stolen items is $218.

Theft: 19-22969
On April 24th, 2019 Deputy Sturdivant took a report at the Sheriff’s Office for a theft. The complainant advised sometime between 11:30 pm on April 23rd and 7:45 am on April 24th, an unknown suspect(s) went into their unlocked vehicle, located on 2nd street in North Beach, and stole their purse with contents inside. The estimated value of stolen items is $35.

Theft: 19-23019
On April 24th, 2019 Dfc. O’Donnell responded to Baythorne Road in Prince Frederick for a report of lost property. The victim stated they went shopping at Safeway in Prince Frederick when they lost their wallet containing several credit and debit cards. The Safeway manager was able to locate a wallet a short time later, and the victim stated the only thing missing from the wallet was one Cash App Visa credit card valued at approximately $25.

ARRESTS:

On April 22nd, 2019 Deputy Aranda along with other deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lake Lariat located in Lusby, MD. As Deputy Aranda approached the vehicle, he could see a bag of marijuana laying in the cup holder, and as the windows rolled down he immediately noticed the smell of burnt marijuana emanating within the vehicle. The driver, identified as Bryan Maurice Robinson (49), informed Deputy Aranda that his license may be suspended which it was discovered to be suspended 3 times. The driver and passenger were instructed to exit the vehicle so a search could be conducted. Robinson fled which resulted in a quick chase until Dfc. Spalding was able to apprehend him. Deputy Freeland witnessed Robinson throw an object during the chase and was recovered by Sgt. Shrawder and his K9 partner, Maximus. Maximus alerted on an orange pill bottle with suspected crack cocaine rocks inside. Dfc. Spalding then conducted a search incident to arrest on Robinson where he located a roach containing suspected marijuana as well as $356 in U.S. currency. Robinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS: Possession- not marijuana, CDS Distribute Narcotics, person driving motor vehicle on suspended license and privilege, and attempt by driver to elude police in official police vehicle by fleeing on foot.

On April 22nd, 2019 Deputy Grierson responded to Calvert Towne Road in Prince Frederick for a check welfare. The caller advised there was a naked white female with blonde hair sitting next to a bonfire in the backyard. Deputy Grierson arrived on scene and made contact with Leigh Anne Bauer (33), who matched the description but was fully clothed. After an unsuccessful attempt to make contact with the home owner(s), Bauer was advised to keep her clothes on and Deputy Grierson cleared the scene. Approximately one hour later, Deputy Grierson responded back to the home on Calvert Towne Road after Cpl. Kreps advised he was able to make contact with one of homeowners, who was at work. The homeowner(s) stated that Bauer did not have permission to be on the property nor inside the residence. Bauer was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where she was charged with Burglary First Degree, Trespass: Private Property, and Theft $100 to under $1,500.

On April 23rd, 2019 Corporal Wilson responded to the AutoZone in Lusby for the report of a trespassing complaint. The suspect, Gary Edward Jackson (50), had an active trespass warning until May 2019. Deputy Shrawder and Deputy Mason told Jackson to vacate the premises, which he eventually complied. As Jackson was walking away, he yelled and cursed at the deputies. As Corporal Wilson was leaving the scene he was waved down by Jackson who stated he left his cell phone in AutoZone. The employees in AutoZone could not locate a cell phone, and Jackson was informed that he could no longer be helped. Jackson then became irate and started yelling profanities and causing a scene, therefore, he was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.

On April 24th, 2019 Deputy Bowlan initiated a traffic stop in the area of Dowell Road and South Solomons Island Road in Lusby. The driver, who was later identified as Dashawn James Lee Lawson (24), was revealed to have an open warrant through the Maryland State Police for Violation of Probation. As Deputy Bowlan made contact with all occupants of the vehicle, he detected a strong odor of fresh marijuana emanating within the vehicle. All occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle, and Lawson was immediately detained and searched. During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Bowlan located a backpack containing two mason jars of suspected marijuana, a prescription bottle containing several burnt marijuana cigarettes, a marijuana cigarette between the passenger seat and the front door jam, as well as a clear cut straw with white powder residue. Lawson took responsibility for the suspected drugs and paraphernalia. Lawson was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was served with his VOP warrant and charged with CDS: Possession not marijuana, CDS: Possession Marijuana 10 grams or more, CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

On April 24th, 2019 Dfc. Gott responded to Pine Boulevard in Lusby for the report of a trespasser. Upon arrival, Dfc. Gott met with the complainant who advised the suspect, Devon Michael Lanham (19), was asked to leave numerous times but refused to comply. Lanham was then found by Deputy Gott, inside a vehicle that was parked in the driveway on the property.  The complainant advised they did not give Lanham permission to enter the vehicle to sleep and they wanted him to leave. Dfc. Gott placed Lanham under arrest for trespassing and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center.

On April 25th, 2019 Dfc. Fox responded to Traders Seafood Steak and Ale located in Chesapeake Beach for the report of an accident. The complainant advised their vehicle had been struck by the person parked next to them causing a dent on the rear passenger side. Brian Allen Ward (48) was the driver of the suspected vehicle and visible damage was apparent on the front fender of his car. Ward has a suspended license and was unable to provide any insurance information. Observed in Ward’s vehicle was a burnt spoon with white residue and a prescription pill bottle with (6) suspected Oxycodone Hydrochlorides, (15) suspected Methadone Hydrochlorides and (1) suspected Morphine Sulphate pill. Ward was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with 3 counts of CDS: Possession not marijuana and CDS: possession paraphernalia.

On April 26th, 2019 Deputy Mason responded to Olympia Sports in Prince Frederick for the report of a theft from Olympia Sports in Dunkirk. Deputy Mason located a vehicle that matched the description of the suspect vehicle sitting in the parking lot of Olympia and Family Dollar. Deputy Mason made contact with the occupant, Anjanica Taylor (21), who matched the exact description from the theft at Olympia in Dunkirk. Taylor was placed in handcuffs and put into Deputy Mason’s patrol vehicle while he looked for the second suspect. At this time, a call came in for a person hiding out at the UPS store located a few doors down. The suspect initially refused to identify herself but was later identified as Majorie Laquita Bandy (25). Dfc. Boerum informed Deputy Mason he was able to see in plain view, the stolen articles from the Dunkirk Olympia, in the back seat of their vehicle. Bandy and Taylor were both placed under arrest for the theft at the Dunkirk Olympia. Bandy became disorderly during the investigation which caused a hindrance for Deputy Mason. Bandy and Taylor were transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where they were charged with theft scheme $100 to $1,500 and theft under $1500. Additionally Bandy was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing and hindering.
