PRESS RELEASES FOR OCTOBER 26TH, 2015

During the week of October 19 through October 25 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,234 calls for service throughout the community. 
Citizens with information on the following crimes or any criminal activity in Calvert County who wish to report it anonymously can now access the Calvert County Crime Solvers link through the Sheriff’s Office website.  
Go to http://www.co.cal.md.us/residents/safety/law/sheriff/ and click on the Crime Solvers link to leave an anonymous tip on-line, or call 410-535-2880.  Information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect could result in a $1,000 reward.

Burglary Case #15-57159
On October 21 Deputy P. Aurich was dispatched to Jewel Road in Dunkirk for the report that someone between the hours of 8:30 am - 5:30 pm had entered a home & removed a Stihl Chainsaw, Leaf Blower and Weed Eater.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office.

Burglary Case #15-56893
Deputy B. Schaefer responded to a call that sometime between 7:00 pm on October 19 and 5:00 am on October 20 someone made entry into a garage on Hatteras Lane in Lusby.  It is unknown at this time if items are missing.

CDS Violation Case #15-57162
On October 21 Deputy W. Rector made a traffic stop on a vehicle driving in an unsafe manner near Camaleer Pass in Owings.  Stephen Andrew Owens, 33, from Washington, DC was arrested on an open warrant and for numerous traffic offenses.  While being processed at the Detention Center, Mr. Owens was also charged with possession of marijuana while in a place of confinement, possession of paraphernalia (foil) and for providing a false statement.

CDS Violation Case #15-56856
On October 20 Deputy J. Migliaccio made a traffic stop at southbound MD Route 4 and Hoile Lane in Huntingtown and discovered Robert John Stevenson, Jr., 46, of Lusby to be in possession of Heroin and paraphernalia (straw).  He was transported to the Detention Center for processing.

CDS Violation Case #15-56787
On October 19 Deputy G. Gott conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle on Thunderbird Drive in Lusby.   He determined the passenger, Daniel Christopher Hughes, 35, of Huntingtown to be in possession of Adderall and paraphernalia (straw).  Mr. Hughes was processed and released to the correctional staff at the Detention Center.

Destruction of Property Case #15-57152
Deputy J. Denton responded to the area of S. Solomons Island Road and HG Trueman Road for the report of a cut control wire belonging to a display sign.  This incident took place sometime between October 19 - 21.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.

Motor Vehicle Theft Case #15-56662
On October 19 Deputy N. Gilmore was dispatched to Fairgrounds Road, Prince Frederick, for the report of a found stolen vehicle.  The vehicle had been reported missing October 17 from a driveway on Queensberry Drive in Huntingtown.

Theft Case #15-57521
Deputy B. Schaefer responded to the Walmart store in Prince Frederick for the report of several shoplifting incidences that have occurred between September 23 - October 16.  Multiple electronics and several items of clothing were stolen.  The investigation is ongoing.

On October 23 Deputy B. Schaefer was dispatched to Asbury Circle in Solomons for the report of money stolen from an apartment.

On October 23 Deputy G. Hollinger interviewed a victim who stated her wallet, credit cards and money were all removed from her purse while shopping at the Giant grocery store in Prince Frederick.

Theft Case #15-57427
Deputy J. Migliaccio was called to Three Brothers Way in Owings for the report of money stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the homeowner’s driveway.  This incident took place between the late hours on October 22 and 7:00 am on October 23.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office.

Theft Case #15-57422
Deputy B. Schaefer was called to Henry Hutchins Road in Prince Frederick for the report of money stolen from several unlocked vehicles.  This incident took place sometime between 10:30 pm on October 22 and 7:00 am on October 23.

On October 22 Deputy M. Trigg was called to the Prince Frederick McDonalds for the report of a disorderly subject.  Eric Demon Booker, 21, of Lusby was arrested for disorderly conduct, theft, trespassing on private property and littering.  He was taken to the Detention Center and processed accordingly.

Theft Case #15-57197
Deputy M. Trigg responded to Elberta Lane in Huntingtown for the report that a brief case, two laptops and other personal items were found on the caller’s lawn.  It was discovered several unlocked vehicles had been rifled through in the overnight hours.

Deputy M. Trigg responded to a report of a theft of money from an unlocked vehicle on Morning Dove Court.  This incident took place in the overnight hours on October 21.

Theft Case #15-56703
On October 19 Deputy B. Schaefer responded to the report of a theft from an unsecured vehicle in the Prince Frederick Walmart parking lot.  A wallet, credit cards and money were stolen.
