During the week of April 6 through April
12 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,394 calls for service throughout the
community.
Citizens with information on the following
crimes or any criminal activity in Calvert County who wish to report it
anonymously can now access the Calvert County Crime
Solvers link through the Sheriff’s Office website.

and click on the Crime Solvers link to leave an anonymous tip on-line. Information leading to the arrest and
conviction of a suspect could result in a $1,000 reward.
Destruction of Property Case #15-18900:
Between 3:00 p.m. on April 4 and 3:00 p.m. on April 6 someone broke the
driver’s side window out of a vehicle parked in the 12900 block of Huron Drive
in Lusby. Dep. G. Gott is investigating.
Theft from Vehicle Cases #15-19505 &
19706:
Dep. W. Rector is investigating the theft of cash from an unlocked
vehicle parked outside a home in the 7800 block of Lake Shore Drive in Owings
overnight between April 8 and 9.
Dep. A. Ostazeski is also investigating the theft of cash from a
vehicle parked in the 3400 block of Evans Road in Huntingtown between April 9
and 10.
CDS Violation Case #15-19776:
On April 10 at 9:54 p.m. Dep. C. Ward went to assist a vehicle he saw
leave the roadway and travel through a field after the driver appeared to have
lost control on Mt. Harmony Road in Owings.
Dep. Ward made contact with the driver who had exited the vehicle to
check for damages. The driver appeared
unhurt. Dep. Ward observed the driver to
have slow, slurred speech and droopy eyelids.
The driver was identified as Christopher Michael Shaner, 23, of
Chesapeake Beach. Shaner was charged
with driving under the influence. A
search incident to arrest revealed suspected drugs. Shaner was also charged with possession of
Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia; a
hypodermic needle.

Theft Case #15-19969:
On April 11 at 7:27 p.m. Dep. D. Clark responded to the Prince
Frederick Walmart for the report of a theft.
Upon arrival he made contact with the loss prevention officer who
advised that he had observed Cynthia Lee Sita, 51, of Huntingtown, putting
items in her purse and then leaving the store without paying. Clark arrested Sita and charged her with
theft less than $1,000.

CDS Violation Case #15-20077:
On April 12 at 8:47 a.m. Dep. G. Gott conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle at Md. Rt. 4 and the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons. He found the driver, John Lloyd Stevenson,
22, of Parkville, to be in possession of suspected drugs. Stevenson was arrested and charged with
possession of marijuana in sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to
distribute, possession of marijuana in the amount of at least 10 grams, and use
of drug paraphernalia; a metal grinder.
